The ‘Ultra’ system started in 1994. Then, as now, all System Gemini stocks are machined from high specification aluminium alloy. This allows us to superbly anodise your stock in wide choice of colours. Please note: we do not keep anodised stocks on the shelf as each stock is machined to suit the customer’s specification and then sent off for colouring as part of a batch of other customer stocks. Two and three coloured graduated anodising is also available.

There are four stocks in the System Gemini series:

All four stocks share the shallow 'Ultra forend' chassis, still the lowest available, so they are suited to all styles of actions, both round and other shapes. This low profile allows the rifle support arm to be higher and improves the recoil characteristics. The closer the support arm is to the bore the less jump there is during recoil. It is a simple principle of leverage. The all alloy construction with no interface plate improves the support to the action to give optimum accuracy.

All four stocks also share the same cheek pieces, the profile of which has been carefully designed to give the shooter easy reference and comfort. It has micro-fine thumbwheel height adjustment and both lateral and axial movement. The cheek piece is easily removed to clean the rifle and will return to its original height setting.

Each of the stocks is machine finished to fit the chosen action and trigger, and Bedding Bolts are supplied. Among the actions the System Gemini suite of stocks will accept are: RPA Quadlock, RPA Quadlite, RPA2000, Paramount, Swing, Barnard, Accuracy International Palmamaster, H&H Millennium, Musgrave, Mauser (some models), Remington 700, Keppler, Walther, Anschütz 14, 18, 19 & 20 series, etc. If you have something different just ask! Some actions can be fitted without the use of bedding compound. This depends on the action chosen. Certain actions will have to be bedded due to their tolerance variations.

The System Gemini AKTIV Standard Rifle Butt Plate (below left) is fitted as standard and mounted on telescopic rods to permit butt length variation. A sub mounting plate provides lateral adjustments. The TR 701 will also accept the System Gemini Free Rifle Butt Plate (below right) if required. This is particularly beneficial for Match Rifle or 300m shooters.

The ‘Palma’ style, thumb-over grip on this stock requires the butt section to pass through the grip, this allows the thumb over hand position favoured by Commonwealth Target Rifle Shooters, some shooters find the hand position is more accommodating on uneven firing points.

The System Gemini AKTIV Standard Rifle Butt Plate (above left) is fitted as standard and mounted on telescopic rods to permit butt length variation. A sub mounting plate provides lateral adjustments. The TR 702 will also accept the System Gemini Free Rifle Butt Plate (above right) if required. This is particularly beneficial for Match Rifle or F-Class shooters.

The TR 702 is fitted with a cartridge system; ball jointed, anatomical pistol grip. The grip has 17° of angular adjustment forwards, backwards and sideways, and full 360° rotation horizontally. The grips come in 85, 90, 95 and 100 mm, with size determined by the measurement across the palm as shown below. The grips can be easily changed by the removal of a single screw bolt.

After 10 successful years of production, the FR 703 has superseded the ‘Ultra’ smallbore stock. The ‘Ultra’ set the standard that the European manufacturers followed. The 703 now re-sets the standard.

The Ultra FR 703 is the shortest stock in the market being 25mm shorter than its shortest competitor. There has been no compromise in strength or balance, just the use of intuitive design.

The System Gemini AKTIV Free Rifle Butt Plate is fitted as standard. This is locked into position using a convenient ratchet handle for ease of lengthening the stock and changing the butt plate.

Match Rifle Style Butt Plate for FC704M Rifle

This stock has been specially designed for the F-Class and bench rest competitor, the FC 704T for F-Class Target Rifle shooting and the FC 704M for F-Class Match Rifle shooting. The forend has an additional section to slide on the front rest bag. This clamps firmly into the existing T-rail in the forend and provides a wide shaped support that fits and slides easily on the bag. It may be quickly removed if required to expose the standard narrower forend rail.

The butt section on the FC 704 is entirely new, with an upper and lower section, but is machined from a single piece of alloy. The upper section holds the normal cheekpiece and mechanism with thumbwheel adjustment. The lower section holds the “bunny rail” with its mechanism and thumbwheel adjustment. This arrangement allows the shooter to make minute elevation changes at the rear of the rifle instead of having to adjust the front rest height.

The wood used on the furniture of these stocks including the forend slider and bunny rail is Canadian Maple that is highly polished to give minimum friction on the bags under recoil. The forend section and bunny rail are set perfectly parallel for straight-line recoil.

The FC 704T comes with the AKTIV Standard Rifle Buttplate and the FC 704M comes with the Free Rifle Buttplate. The mountings for both butt plates are identical permitting quick exchange if desired.
